Softball Swept In Doubleheader Against Stony Brook

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team fell two games to Stony Brook in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 9 in Providence, R.I.
GAME ONE NOTES
-Stony Brook grabbed a 3-0 lead through the first four innings. Corinne Badger and Alicia Orosco hit RBI singles in the third and fourth inning. Catherine Kupinski homered to left field in the fourth inning.
-Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) went 2-for-3 at the plate, hitting two doubles.
-Daniela Alvarez started in the circle for the Friars, pitching 3.2 innings recording four strikeouts.
-Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) relieved Alvarez pitching 3.1 innings. She allowed two hits and struck out six batters.
GAME TWO NOTES
-The game was scoreless through five innings.
-Stony Brook's Kosinski hit an RBI single in the top of the sixth to give the Seawolves a 1-0 advantage.
-Dawn Bodrug held the Friars to one hit and 18 strikeouts.
-Jessica Walter pitched a complete game for the Friars. She allowed five hits while striking out seven batters.

The Friars will play Boston University on Sunday, April 10 at 12:00 p.m. in Boston, Mass.
