PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will play Stony Brook in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 9 in Providence, R.I. before facing Boston University in Boston, Mass. on Sunday, April 10. The Friars are off to their best 30-game start since 2019 (18-12) with a 21-9 overall record. This also marks the best start under Head Coach
Jill Karwoski.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars enter the weekend with a 21-9 overall record and an 8-4 record in BIG EAST play. Providence earned its first series sweep of the season with three wins over Georgetown last weekend.

Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) paces the Friars lineup with a .337 batting average. She also leads the team in RBIs (20) and is tied for a team-high in hits (31).
Rachael Petrarca (Clearwater, Fla.) has also posted a .337 batting average recording 31 hits and seven home runs. Providence has eight separate players with home runs this season. In the Friars win against Georgetown on April 3,
Madi Traver (Irving, Texas) recorded her third home run of the season and
Lea Kosinski (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) hit her first grand slam of her collegiate career.

Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) leads the pitching staff with a 2.46 ERA, 9-5 record and 109 strikeouts through 82.2 innings.
Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) holds a 7-2 record with 66 strikeouts through 69.1 innings. Alvarez pitched a complete game against Georgetown on April 3 and struck out eight batters while only allowing two hits.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK
Stony Brook enters Saturday's doubleheader with an 18-10 overall record. The Seawolves defeated BIG EAST foe St. John's, 8-0, on Tuesday, April 5.

Corinne Badger leads the Seawolves at the plate this season posting a .365 batting average. She has recorded 31 hits and a team-high 13 homeruns. Alicia Orosco has also made an impact at the plate with 28 hits.

Dawn Bodrug leads the Seawolves in the circle pitching 103.1 innings this season. She holds a 11-5 record while holding batters to a .177 batting average. Shelbi Denman has also put time in in the circle pitching 59.2 innings. She holds a 5-5 record with a 3.32 ERA.

SCOUTING BOSTON UNIVERSITY
The Terriers enter game with a 25-13 overall record and on a 14-game winning streak. On Tuesday, April 5, Boston University swept Harvard in a doubleheader in Allston, Mass.

Boston University have five players batting over .300 this season, led by Kayla Roncin (.448) and Emily Gant (.424). Roncin paces the Terriers with a team-high 56 hits, while Gant holds a team-high 32 RBI.

Allison Boaz and Lizzy Avery lead the Terriers in the circle, pitching 115.1 and 115.0 innings, respectively. Boaz holds a 14-4 record with a team-best 1.52 ERA, while Avery holds a 2.68 ERA and 11-8 record.
