Kimberley May And Liam Back To Run For New Zealand At Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College cross country and track alumna Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) and graduate student Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) will compete for New Zealand at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, July 27. May will race in the women's 1,500 meters, while Back lines up in the men's 5,000-meters.

ESPN and BIG EAST Sign New Multi-Year Digital Media Rights Agreement Bolstering Coverage For Basketball And Olympic Sports

NEW YORK, N.Y. - ESPN and the BIG EAST Conference have announced a new six-year digital media rights agreement, adding hundreds of live BIG EAST events to ESPN's robust college sports portfolio. A minimum of 75 women's basketball and 200 Olympic sports events will stream on ESPN+ annually beginning in the 2025-26 academic season. This deal will also include a minimum of 25 non-conference games annually for BIG EAST men's basketball.

Providence College Finishes Third in Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association All-Sports Trophy Ranking

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced on Wednesday [July 2] that Providence College finished third in the final standings of the 2024-25 Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association All-Sports Trophy Ranking. The Friars claimed first-place finishes in women's cross country and indoor track and field.

Women’s Cross Country And Track Ranked No. 15 In The Nation In Final Standings For USTFCCCA

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The USTFCCA released its final standings for the Program of the Year Awards on June 17, spanning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons based on each institution's finish at the respective NCAA championships. The Providence College women's cross country and track team ranked No. 15 in the nation after a third-place finish in cross country, a 27th place finish in indoor track and a 51st place finish in outdoor track. The Friars were the top BIG EAST school in the final standings.

EUGENE, Ore. – The Providence Friars women's team competed on the final day at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championship on Saturday June 14 at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore.
