PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team (28-16, 17-4 BIG EAST) defeated the Georgetown University Hoyas (16-23, 9-12 BIG EAST), 5-4, on a walk off ground out by
Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) on Wednesday, April 29 at Glay Field. The Friars came back in the seventh inning after being down 4-1 to secure the series win.Â

GAME NOTESÂ
• In the second inning,
Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) got Providence on the board when she tripled to center field, driving in
Zoe Krizan (Pittsburg, Pa) to give Providence an early 1-0 lead.Â
• Georgetown jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the fifth. Â
• After the Friars loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, Lee singled to left field, bringing home Krizan while runners advanced to set up a late rally with no outs. Â

Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) doubled to left field, driving in
Dominique Gallardo (Lexington, S.C.) and
Becca Weaver (Cary, Ill.) to tie the game at 4-4.Â
• Dunn grounded out to third base, allowing Lee to score and cap the scoring for Providence and win the game with a walk off ground out. Â
• In the circle,
Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.), pitching four innings, strikeout out two.
Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) and
Alannah Hopkins (Sylva, N.C.) both came in relief, pitching two and one innings, respectively.Â
• Providence can clinch at least a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season title with one victory at Butler this upcoming weekend.
