VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Providence College softball team fell against the Villanova Wildcats, 2-1, in their final game of a weekend series in Villanova, Pa. on Sunday, April 18. The Friars drop to 2-10 overall, with a 1-7 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence tallied eight hits to Villanova's three, but Villanova's defense helped the Wildcats clench a 2-1 victory.
-The Wildcats gained the lead in the bottom of the first, as Paige Rauch hit a homer to center field.
-Providence evened the scoreboard in the top of the third with a homer to the left field by
Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.).
-The score remained 1-1 into the bottom of the fifth inning before Sydney Hayes scored off of a fly ball to center field.

Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) pitched six innings, allowing one earned runs on three hits. She struck out five batters in the game.
