PROVIDENCE, R.I.-Â The Providence College softball team fell to Brown University, 2-1, on Wednesday (April 30) on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars dropped to 22-26 overall this season, while the Bears improved to 29-13.
GAME NOTESÂ Â
- The Friars opened the scoring on an RBI groundout by Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Bears tied the game in the top of the second inning on an RBI single then took the lead in the top of the third on a solo home run by Jasmine Hsiao.
- Neither team scored over the final 4.5 innings as the Bears held on for the one-run victory.
- Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.), Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) and Kaelyn Loncharich (Yucaipa, Calif.) all recorded hits for the Friars on Wednesday.
- Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) pitched 6.1 innings and surrendered two earned runs on six hits and one strikeout. Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) appeared for 0.2 innings with one strikeout. Â

The Friars will close out the 2025 regular season on the road at Villanova for a three-game series from May 2-4.Â
