Cancelled Event: Softball versus Tarleton State

The Friars will host the Bears in a single game on April 30 at 6:00 p.m. on Glay Field.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will host a single game on Wednesday, April 30 against Brown University at 6:00 p.m. on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. Wednesday's game will be a pink-out where all fans are encouraged to wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters the series with a 22-25 overall record and an 11-10 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars are coming off a strong week, totaling five games and posting a 4-1 record with wins over Stonehill, Bryant and a doubleheader sweep against Tarleton State on April 25.
Junior Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) and sophomore Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) continue to lead the Friars offensively, batting .386 and .359, respectively. Smith paces the team with 56 hits, 36 runs scored and a .467 on-base percentage, while Dunn holds a team-best .625 slugging percentage, along with 35 RBI and eight home runs. Smith led the Friars last week with five RBI across five games.
Junior Julia Renny (Syosset, N.Y.) and sophomore Emma Eichten (Alamo, Calif.) also contributed to the team's 4-1 record last week. Both players tallied three RBI and two runs scored. Renny finished the week with two home runs, three hits, a 2.250 slugging percentage and an .833 on-base percentage. Eichten recorded one home run, four hits, a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage.
Graduate student Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) leads the Friars' pitching staff with a 3.47 ERA and a 10-8 record. She has totaled 62 strikeouts while allowing 52 earned runs across 105 innings this season. Last week, Grifone finished with a 2-0 record and finishing with a 1.27 ERA across 11 innings. She held opponents to a .132 batting average and only two earned runs.
SCOUTING BROWN
Brown enters the matchup with a 28-13 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Ivy League play. The Bears most recently earned a three-game sweep over conference foe, Yale.
Senior Laurel Moody leads the lineup in hits (53), home runs (14), RBI (38), batting average (.445), slugging percentage (.874) and on-base percentage (.546). She holds Brown's single season home run record and the single season mark in RBI.
Senior Alexis Guevara leads the pitching staff with a 15-6 record and a 1.65 ERA. She is the program's all-time strikeout leader (388) and set the program's single season strikeout mark with 143.

The Friars will conclude regular season play with a three-game BIG EAST series at Villanova beginning on May 2. The series will be available for stream on FloCollege.
