INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Providence College softball team defeated Butler, 3-2, in BIG EAST action on Friday, April 29 in Indianapolis, Ind. With the win, the Friars improved to 24-17 overall and 10-9 in conference play.
GAME NOTES
-The Friars scored three early runs within the first three innings.
Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) and
Micaela Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) scored off an error in the first inning.
-In the top of the third inning, Harrington hit a solo homerun to left center field. The Friars led 3-0.
-The Bulldogs scored two runs on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning.
-
Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) pitched a complete game for the Friars and improved to 11-8 on the season. She allowed three hits while striking out 11 batters.

The Friars will play Butler in game two-of-three on Saturday, April 29 in Indianapolis, Ind.
