PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team fell to Villanova, 4-0, on Sunday, April 24 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars fall to 23-17 and 9-9 in BIG EAST play with the loss.
GAME NOTES
-The game was scoreless through the first three innings with one hit between the two teams.
-Villanova's Alexa Raphael opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 advantage.
-The Wildcats extended their lead to three in the fifth inning with RBIs by Chloe Smith and Megan Kern.
- The top of the seventh inning sealed the win for Villanova, as they scored an insurance run to build a 4-0 lead.
-
Jessica Walter (Middleton, Del.) made her seventh start of the season in the circle. She pitched 4.0 innings allowing two hits while striking out four batters.

The Friars will face Boston College on Tuesday, April 26 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I.
