PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will host the Georgetown University Hoyas for a three-game BIG EAST series beginning on Friday, April 1 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars enter the weekend with an 18-9 overall record and a 5-4 record in BIG EAST play. Last weekend, the Friars fell 1-2 in a three-game series against the Creighton Bluejays.

Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) continues to pace the Friars lineup with a .345 batting average. She also leads the team in hits (29) and RBIs (18).
Rachael Petrarca (Clearwater, Fla.) has posted a .333 batting average recording 28 hits and a team-high seven homeruns. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week for the first time this season.

Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) leads the pitching staff with a 2.62 ERA, 7-5 record and 97 strikeouts through 74.2 innings.Â
Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) is 6-2 with a 3.69 ERA and 55 strikeouts through 60.2 innings.Â
Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) improved her record to 4-2 this season after leading the Friars' to a 10-7 win over Creighton in the circle. She has a 4.12 ERA over 37.1 innings in 2022.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
The Hoyas enter the weekend series at 11-14 overall and 2-2 in conference play. On Wednesday, March 30, Georgetown fell to George Washington, 8-7, in a midweek non-conference match-up.

Georgetown has four players batting over .300 this season, led by Alyssa Chavez (.365) and Abby Smith (.333). Chavez paces the Hoyas with 21 RBI, while Smith holds a team-high seven home runs.
Â
Julia Parker and Kayla Dunn lead the Hoyas in the circle, pitching 69.2 and 69.0 innings, respectively. Parker holds a 3-6 record with a team-best 3.62 ERA, while Dunn holds a 4.06 ERA and a 6-3 record.

The Friars will host the University of Maine in a mid-week double header on Wednesday, April 6 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I.
