The Friars and Owls will square off at Howarth Field in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sept. 21 at 6:00 p.m.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (4-5, 0-1 BIG EAST): Providence College enters Friday's game with a 4-5 overall record, including a 0-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.  The Friars opened the season 0-3, but responded with three-consecutive victories to even their record.  The win streak came to a halt with back-to-back losses against nationally-ranked opponents, No. 14 Iowa (1-0) and No. 15 Old Dominion (6-1), but the Friars bounced back in their most recent game to defeat LIU Brooklyn, 8-0.

Junior Allyson Parker (Orange, Mass.) leads the offense with 13 points on five goals and three assists, with each of those totals marking a single-season career high.  Fellow juniors Kara Sanford (Hazelton, Pa.) and Izzy Mendez (Cedar Grove, N.J.) have each scored four goals on the year for eight points.  Sophomore Maddie Babineau (Milton, Ontario) also has recorded eight points on two goals and four assists.  Senior Corinne Kenney (Warrington, Pa.) leads the team in assists (five).

As a team, Providence has scored 14 of it 20 goals in the second half, and have outscored their opponents by a slim, 20-19, margin.  The Friars also have held a 108-99 advantage in shots and a 69-45 edge in penalty corners.

In goal, senior Lydia Rice (Carle Place, N.Y.) has seen the majority of minutes (525).  She has posted a 4-4 overall record and owns a 1.73 goals against average and a 0.705 save percentage.  She has recorded two shut-out victories on the year vs. Brown (1-0) and LIU Brooklyn (8-0).

Temple holds a 4-3 lead in the all-time series against Providence, but the Friars have earned victories in each of the last three meetings.  Last season, Providence defeated Temple, 4-2, in Providence, R.I.

SCOUTING TEMPLE (1-5, 0-0 BIG EAST):  Temple enters Friday's match-up against Providence with a 1-5 overall record.  The Owls have not played a game since Sept. 9, after its scheduled conference opener against Liberty (Sept. 14) was postponed due to Hurricane Florence.  Temple's lone victory of the season came against Lafayette, 3-2, on Sept. 7.

Mia Sexton leads the Owls in scoring with four points on two goals.  Five other players have recorded one goal on the year.  Kathryn Edgar,  Cristen Barnett and Taylor Alba are tied for the team lead in assists, with two each.  Edgar and Barnett have combined to take 28 of the Owl's 63 shot attempts.
