PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College field hockey Head Coach
Diane Madl announced today [May 4] that Macy Szukics will join her staff as an assistant coach. Szukics will begin her coaching career with the Friars in June, following graduation from Duke University this May.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Macy to the Friar Family," Madl said. "She brings a wealth of experience, having played the sport at the highest level in college and as part of the U.S. system. She pairs that playing experience with an exceptional knowledge of the game. I'm confident that she has a bright future ahead of her in the coaching ranks and I look forward to her arrival in Friartown."
Szukics, played 82 games for the Blue Devils with 67 appearances in the starting line-up. She was named team captain as a senior during the 2025 campaign and finished her career with 34 points on seven goals and 20 assists. Four of her seven goals during her career were game winners. In addition to her success on the field, Szukics also excelled in the classroom as a NFHCA National Academic Team selection and NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. Additionally, she was recognized as an All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll selection.
Szukics played on the United States U21 Junior National Team and also served on the U21 Leadership Committee in 2025. She competed with Team U.S.A. at the Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay in August 2025 and helped guide her squad to a Silver Medal. Szukics has been active in the U.S. Field Hockey since entering the pipeline as part of the U14 squad. She also has competed for the U.S. U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams during her career.
