PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team was defeated by BIG EAST foe Temple, 3-2, in overtime on Oct. 31 in Providence, R.I. Both teams concluded their seasons. Providence finished the year with an 8-9 record, while Temple finished 12-6.
GAME FLOW:

Bo Martina scored her ninth goal of the season to give Providence a 1-0 lead at the 8:26 mark. She converted the goal on a penalty corner opportunity, assisted by
Johanna Mahner.
• Temple tied the game, 1-1, at the 13:00 minute mark. Halle Aschenbach sent a diagonal ball to Lucia Magro, who was left alone on the left side of the circle. Magro fired a back-handed shot into the cage.
• The teams remained tied through the remainder of the first quarter and into halftime (1-1).
• Temple held a 6-3 advantage in shots at the break and Providence led in penalty corners, 3-1.

Lily Procaccianti scored her team-best 10
th goal of the season to give the Friars a 2-1 lead at 38:49. She deflected the ball into the cage off a feed from Martina during a corner.
• Magro leveled the score, 2-2, with her second goal of the game at 55:58 and eventually forced overtime.
• Peyton Rieger scored the game-winning goal at 68:24 as she sent home a feed from Marsha Ariesen.
NOTES:
•
Ava Porter played 38:24 in the cage for Providence and took the loss. She allowed two goals and made four saves.
Zoe Onken played all 30 minutes in the second half and allowed one goal and recorded five saves.
• Martina finished the day with one goal and one assist for three points. She finished the season with a team-best 22 points on nine goals and four assists.
• Procaccianti finished second on the team in scoring with 21 points on a team-best 10 goals and one assist.
• The Friars compiled a 2-3 record in overtime games on the season.
