Softball Falls To No. 11 Texas A&M At The Aggie Classic

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Providence College softball team (1-4) fell to the No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies (4-1) on the final day of the 2026 Aggie Classic on Sunday, Feb. 6. in College Station, Texas. Junior Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) led the Friars offensively, going 2-3 with a solo home run in the first inning. The Friars totaled five hits in the game. 
  
GAME NOTES  
  • Providence got on the board first in the top of the first inning as Dunn launched a solo home run over the centerfield wall to give the Friars an early 1-0 lead. 
  • Texas A&M responded with a four-run third inning and added three more runs in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead.  
  • The Friars added their second run in the top of the fifth when junior Emma Eichten (Alamo, Calif.) drove in a run, cutting the deficit to 7-2.  
  • Texas A&M scored one final run in the sixth inning to secure the 8-2 win.  
  • Providence finished with five hits.  
  
ON DECK… 
The Friars return to action on the weekend of Feb. 20 when they take on Akron, North Carolina State and Illinois at the Raleigh Times Tournament in Raleigh, N.C.
