The Friars will play the Johnnies in a three-game series from March 28-30.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College softball team will travel to Queens, N.Y. to play in a three-game series at St. John's beginning on March 28 at 2:00 p.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters this BIG EAST road series with an 11-17 overall record, including a 6-3 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars most recently split a doubleheader against URI on March 25.
Senior Rachael Petrarca (Tampa, Fla.) delivered strong performances at the plate against the Rams, recorded hitting two home runs in the opening game. She finished the night with three RBI, four hits and three runs scored. Petrarca currently has 13 hits and 10 RBI on the season.
Sophomore Emma Eichten (Alamo, Calif.) leads the BIG EAST in doubles (five), ranks second in hits (13 in BIG EAST), and stands sixth in on-base percentage (.594). She recorded six hits across the Friars' four wins last week that included two doubles. She also drove in four runs and scored four.
Sophomore Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a standout week at the plate, recording six hits and six RBI, including two home runs. She played a key role in the comeback win over Boston College on March 18, driving in three runs that was highlighted by a go-ahead two-run homer. During the three-game series at DePaul (March 21–22), she added a solo home run and a two-run single. Dunn finished the week with an impressive .500 batting average, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and a .588 on-base percentage. She currently leads the team in batting average (.556), slugging percentage (.744), RBI (27), and on-base percentage (.479).
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
The Red Storm enters the weekend series with a 23-10-1 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in BIG EAST play. Most recently, the Johnnies fell to Fordham, 4-1, in a midweek non-conference matchup on March 26, following a series win at Butler, where they took two of three games last weekend.
London Jarrard leads the SJU lineup in batting average (.423), home runs (five), RBI (33), slugging percentage (.654) and on-base percentage (.531). Jess Bianco and Elanna Lysiak follow with batting averages of .416 and .330, respectively. Lysiak was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after going 7-for-12 (.538) with three runs scored, two doubles and four RBIs across the team's four contests last week. Lysiak was crucial for the Red Storm in its middle contest against Butler, recording an RBI double and the eventual game-winning two-run RBI single in the sixth inning to earn the Johnnies the 5-4 win.
The St. John's pitching staff currently leads the BIG EAST in ERA (2.12), strikeouts (25), runs allowed (16) and walks allowed (11). Ana Serafinko commands the circle for the Red Storm as she leads the league in ERA (1.91) and strikeouts (50). She was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after tallying 15 strikeouts across 6.2 innings in the opening game against the Bulldogs. The junior then appeared in the second game at Butler, throwing two scoreless innings to seal St. John's 5-4 win. In the final game of the series, Serafinko tossed a complete game, allowing just two earned runs while striking out 11 to give the Red Storm an 8-2 victory. Serafinko held a 1.45 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched and struck out 38 batters in her three starts and one relief appearance last week.

The Friars will host Boston University (19-10, 3-0 Patriot League) in a mid-week non-conference game on April 2 at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The game is slated for 3:00 p.m. and is available for stream on FloSports.
