PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team fell to Creighton University in the series finale on Saturday (April 29), 7-0.
GAME NOTES
- The Bluejays got off to strong offensive start in the first inning scoring four runs. Emma Rosonke doubled to left center field to kick-off the scoring for the Bluejays.
- Creighton's Kailey Wilson hit an RBI double to center field to extend the Bluejays lead to 5-0 in the second inning.
- The lead was extended in the top of the fifth inning as the Bluejays tacked on two more runs to make it a 7-0 game.
- Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) led the way for the Friars with two hits.
- Riley Quirk (Holden, Mass.) started the game and pitched 3.1 innings, allowing five earned runs on nine hits.
- Senior Elysia Cunnigan (Corona, Calif.) added 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits.
- Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) allowed two earned runs on three hits over one inning of relief.
ON DECK
The Friars will conclude their regular season schedule next weekend (May 5-7) on the road at Villanova University.
