PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will face Stony Brook on Saturday, April 15 in Stony Brook, N.Y.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters Saturday's game with an 11-23 overall record and a 4-11 BIG EAST record. The Friars fell to Merrimack, 8-2, in their most recent game on Tuesday, April 11.
Junior
Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) continues to pace the Friars lineup with a .379 batting average. She also leads the team in hits (39) and RBIs (27). Sophomore
Rachael Petrarca (Clearwater, Fla.) and sophomore
Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) have also made an impact at the plate combining for 43 hits.
Freshman
Riley Quirk (Holden, Mass.) has pitched 59.1 innings for the Friars this season. She has allowed 80 hits while striking out 28 batters.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
The Seawolves enter Saturday's game with a 15-20 overall record. Stony Brook swept Manhattan College in a double-header on Thursday, April 13.
Junior Alicia Orosco leads the Seawolves at the plate recording a .331 batting average. She has tallied 39 hits and 10 RBIs. Sophomore Alyssa Costello has recorded 28 hits through 90 at-bats and a team-high 22 RBIs.
Senior Ashton Melaas has appeared in 23 games for the Seawolves pitching 93.2 innings. She has recorded a 3.06 ERA while striking out 44 batters.
ON DECK
The Friars will travel to Cambridge, Mass. to face Harvard on Tuesday, April 18.
