PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will face Merrimack College on Tuesday, April 11 in North Andover, Mass.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars enter Tuesday's game with an 11-22 overall record and a 4-11 BIG EAST record. Providence went 1-2 in its three-game BIG EAST series against Georgetown on April 5 and April 6.
Junior
Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) continues to pace the Friars lineup with a .386 batting average. She also leads the team in hits (39) and RBIs (27). Harrington hit two home runs in the Friars series against Georgetown including a grand slam in the Friars, 12-8, win on April 6. Freshman
Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) has recorded 16 hits at the plate this season. She tallied five hits through 10 at-bats in the Friars three-game BIG EAST series against Georgetown.
Freshman
Riley Quirk (Holden, Mass.) went 1-1 in the circle against Georgetown. She pitched a total of 10.2 innings in the series and struck out seven batters.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK
The Warriors enter Tuesday's game with a 10-18 overall record. Merrimack went 3-0 last week in a three-game series against Stonehill College.
Senior Courtney Lanpher leads the Warriors at the plate recording a .438 batting average. She has tallied 32 hits, 12 RBIs and four home runs. Sophomore Ellen Hubbard has recorded a team-high 37 hits through 85 at-bats.
Graduate student Bry Michitson has appeared in 18 games for the Warriors pitching 83.2 innings. She has recorded a 4.20 ERA while striking out 64 batters.
ON DECK
The Friars will travel to Stony Brook, N.Y. to face Stony Brook on Saturday, April 15.
