Softball Falls To Fairleigh Dickinson, 11-3, In Five Innings

DELAND, Fla. - The Providence College softball team was defeated by Fairleigh Dickinson, 11-3, in five innings on Sunday, February 13 in DeLand, Fla. 
 

GAME NOTES 

-The Knights got an early advantage by scoring eight runs in the first three innings. 

-Sophomore Rachael Petrarca (Clearwater, Fla.) homered to left field in the fourth inning to get the Friars on the scoreboard, 8-1. 

-In the fifth inning, junior Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) doubled to right center field bringing in two runs for Providence, 9-3. 

-The game ended in five innings with a score of 11-3. 

ON DECK

The Friars will travel to Charleston, S.C. to compete in the Buc Up! Tournament hosted by Charleston Southern University from Feb. 17 through Feb. 19. The Friars will play five games throughout the weekend against UMass (Feb. 17), North Dakota (Feb. 17, Feb. 18) and Charleston Southern (Feb. 18, Feb. 19).
