BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Providence College sophomore
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and freshman
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) ran the women's 1,500 meters, junior
Alex O'Neill (Ennis Ireland) ran the women's 800 meters (7:50 p.m.) and sophomore
Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) ran the women's 10,000 meters today (May 26) at the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track East Preliminary competitions at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
Flockhart ran a strong race, finishing second (4:13.91) in her heat in a personal best time. With her second-place finish she qualified for Saturday's 1,500 meter Quarterfinals. May also ran a personal best time as she completed the 1,500 meters in 4:23.73.
O'Neill ran the 800 meters in 2:13.90. Mooney ran the 10,000 meters but did not finish the race.
The Friars will return to action on Friday as graduate students AJ Ernst (Marblehead, Mass.) and Angus White (New Plymouth, New Zealand) will run in the 1,500 meter Quarterfinals at 5:15 p.m. and sophomore Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) will compete in the steeplechase at 5:40 p.m.
