STORRS, Conn. – The Providence College softball team fell to UConn, 3-1, in BIG EAST action on Friday, April 15 in Storrs, Conn.

GAME NOTES
-UConn got on the board first in the second inning scoring two runs. Briana Marcelino hit a triple and Reese Guevarra reached on an error both bringing in runs for UConn.
-UConn's Makenzie Mason extended the Huskies lead to three by scoring on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.
-Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) got the Friars on the board with an RBI single to center field. Micaela Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) contributed the run for the Friars.
-Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) pitched 3.2 innings for the Friars, allowing two hits while striking out five batters.

ON DECK
The Friars will play UConn in game two-of-three on Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m.
