PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team will play UConn in a three-game BIG EAST series beginning on Friday, April 15 before hosting Bryant University on Tuesday, April 19.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars enter the weekend with a 21-12 overall record and an 8-4 record in BIG EAST play. Providence is currently in second place in the BIG EAST standings under this weekend's match-up UConn in first place.

Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) paces the Friars lineup with a .333 batting average. She also leads the team in RBIs (20) and in hits (34).Â
Rachael Petrarca (Clearwater, Fla.) has also posted a .333 batting average recording 32 hits and seven home runs. Providence has eight separate players with home runs this season.

Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) leads the pitching staff with a 2.49 ERA, 9-6 record and 117 strikeouts through 90.0 innings.Â
Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) holds a 7-3 record with 72 strikeouts through 75.0 innings.

SCOUTING UCONN
The Huskies enter the series with a 26-13 overall record and a 13-2 record in conference play. UConn defeated Fairfield University, 4-1, in a midweek match-up on Wednesday, April 13.

Briana Marcelino leads the Huskies at the plate this season with a .379 batting average. She leads the team in hits (50), RBIs (29) and homeruns (6). Lexi Hastings has posted a .366 batting average this season recording 45 hits.

Elise Sokolsky leads the Huskies pitching staff posting a 2.57 ERA over 103.1 innings. She holds a 14-3 record, holding batters to a .227 batting average. Meghan O'Neil has also contributed time in the circle pitching 82.2 innings. She holds a 9-6 record with a 3.64 ERA.
SCOUTING BRYANT
Bryant holds an 8-20 overall record heading into the weekend. Before playing Providence, the Bulldogs will face Wagner in a three-game series (April 15 and 16).

Bryant is led by Sarah McKeveny, who leads the team in batting average (.353) and has recorded 18 hits. Aleix Hudson paces the Bulldogs in RBIs (13) while posting a .296 batting average.

Kylie Kenney has started 12 games for the Bulldogs, posting a 5-6 record, a 2.87 ERA, and 53 strikeouts over 61.0 innings pitched. McKeveny has started seven games, registering a 3.11 ERA over 56.1 innings. As a staff, opponents have batted .285 against the Bulldogs this season.
ON DECK
The Friars will host Villanova University on April 22 to begin a three-game BIG EAST series.
