OMAHA, Neb. - The Providence College softball team fell in the series-opener to Creighton, 10-0 in five innings, on Friday afternoon in Omaha, Neb. The Friars drop to 17-8 overall this season and 4-3 in BIG EAST play.

GAME NOTES 

- After a scoreless first inning, the Bluejays struck for two runs in the second and third innings and added six in the fourth inning.

- Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) started the game and went 2.1 innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out four. 

- Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) came on in relief and allowed four earned runs over 0.1 innings.

- Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) pitched 0.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.

- Lauren Nunez (Rowland Heights, Calif.) spoiled the no-hit bid by Kate Mullaly with a double in the top of the fifth inning.

ON DECK

The Friars and Bluejays will battle again on Saturday, March 26 in game two of the three-game series.
