South Orange, N.J. – The Providence College softball team dropped its BIG EAST opener to Seton Hall, 8-0 in six innings, on Friday (March 10) at Mike Sheppard Field.

GAME NOTES
-Sophomore Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) struck out seven over 3.1 innings, surrendering three earned runs.
-Seton Hall's Shelby Smith and Taylor Hill each went 3-for-4 on the day. Smith recorded four RBI.
-The first two innings went scoreless before the Pirates struck for seven runs over the third and fourth innings.
-Grifone, along with graduate student Micaela Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) and sophomore Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.), accounted for the three Providence hits on the day.
-Senior Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) logged 2.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits.
