PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team fell against the UConn Huskies, 4-1, in the series finale on Wednesday, April 28. The Friars drop to 3-15-1 overall, with a 2-12-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
-UConn grabbed a 4-0 lead throughout the first two innings. Jana Sanden homered to center field with an RBI of three in the top of the first. In top of the second, Lauren Benson scored as Aziah James grounded out to second base.

Lyndsey Evix (Cumberland, Md.) got the Friars on the board off of a single to center field by
Madi Traver (Irving, Texas), 4-1.
-The remainder of the innings were scoreless, and the Huskies took home a 4-1 victory over the Friars.

Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) pitched all 7.0 innings for Friars, allowing six hits and two earned runs with three strike outs.
ON DECK:
The Friars will return to play for their final series of the season on Saturday, May 8 with a doubleheader beginning at noon. The series finale will be played on Sunday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m.
