PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team is set to travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Wednesday, March 20 to play the Boston College Eagles. Providence improved to a 13-10 overall record after beating Scared Heart 12-1 on March 19. The second game of the day against Sacred Heart was canceled due to unplayable field conditions. Â

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE:Â
Emma Lee (Orange, Calif.) is at the top of the lineup for the Friars, posting a team-high .417 batting average and 25 hits. She also leads the team in runs with 12. Allison Abbatiello (North Salem, N.Y.) and
Mackensie Compton (Langhorne, Penn. )are the other Friars hitting above .300, Abbatiello is hitting .325 with 13 hits while Compton holds a .324 average and four RBI.

Vanessa Portillo (Chatsworth, Calif.) and
Lauren Nunez (Rowland Heights, Calif.) are also assisting in the Friars' offense this season. Portillo holds a .296 batting average and has tallied 21 hits. She also leads the team in RBI (12), recording four in her last game against Sacred Heart (March 19). Nunez has tallied 10 runs, 11 hits and 10 RBI at 58 at bats.

Daniela Alvarez (Santa Ana, Calif.) and
Megan McCune (Orange, Calif.) have been the dominant forces in the circle for Providence. Alvarez has started 10 games, pitching six complete games and tallying 45 strikeouts. She posts a 1.56 ERA and 7-3 record. McCune has started five out her 13 appearances, pitching three complete games. She holds a 5-3 record,  2.10 ERA and has recorded 25 strikeouts. McCune was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 18.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES:
The Boston College Eagles are 7-14 on the season with a 0-3 record in ACC play. The Eagles last played the North Carolina Tarheels on March 15-17 in Chapel Hill, N.C. Boston College went 0-3 on the weekend.Â
The Eagle's offense features Emme Martinez and Gianna Boccagno. Martinez has recorded a .290 batting average, while Boccagno is not far behind with a .238 batting average. The duo has combined for 33 hits, 15 runs and 22 RBI. Boccagno leads Boston College in home runs, tallying five on the season so far.Â
Susan Anderson has started 11 games as the pitcher for the Eagles. She has posted a 3-6 record with a 4.11 ERA and 40 strikeouts on the season.

Providence will travel to Jamaica, N.Y. on March 23-24 to play in their first BIG EAST matchup against St. John's.Â
