Friars will enter the BIG EAST Tournament as the No. 4 seed and will face No. 1 seed Connecticut.

Kenney put a reverse stick attempt on net during a penalty corner. Mendez got loose at the top of the circle with just over four minutes left in the half and ripped a shot off the goalkeeper's pads.

• In the third quarter, Providence outshot Liberty, 7-6, and held a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners, but the Friars were unable to find the back of the cage.

• Daniella Rhodes put the Flames ahead, 2-0, at the 48:33 mark of the fourth quarter. Maddie Hosler slipped a pass to Rhodes, who then carried it into the left side of the circle unmarked before firing a wide-open shot into the right side of the cage.
