Softball Falls To Boston College, 10-7

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team (14-13, 7-2 BIG EAST) lost to the Boston College Eagles (11-23, 2-7 ACC) on Tuesday, March 31 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. Senior Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) recorded her 11th home run of the season

GAME NOTES
• In the first, the Friars got going when Julia Renny (Syosset, N.Y.) launched a two-run home run to left field, driving in Sofia Peterson (Bordentown, N.J.) to give Providence an early 2-0 lead.
• In the second, Dominique Gallardo (Lexington, S.C.) doubled to center field to plate Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.), extending the Friars' lead to 3-0. Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) stole second, and Gallardo scored on a throwing error by BC, making it 4-0, Providence.
• Later in the inning, Dunn blasted a two-run homer to right field, bringing in Lee to push the lead to 6-0.
• Dunn added an RBI single to center in the fourth, scoring Lee to extend the advantage to 7-2.
• Boston College stormed back late, highlighted by a three-run home run from Adriana Martinez in the fifth to spark the rally.
• The Eagles completed the comeback in the sixth on a go-ahead three-run homer by Abby Ptak, then added two insurance runs in the seventh to secure the 10-7 win.
• The Friars pitched four different pitchers. Grace Brooks (Meridian, Idaho) got the start and was relieved by Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.), Alannah Hopkins (Sylva, N.C.) and Addyson Frye (New Castle, Pa.).

The Friars will return to action on Wednesday, April 1 at 4:00 p.m. at Bryant. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
