PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team (12-11, 5-1 BIG EAST) will travel to South Orange, N.J. for a three-game BIG EAST series against Seton Hall (11-15, 2-7 BIG EAST) from March 27-29. The series opener is scheduled for Friday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. Game two is on Saturday, March 28 at 12:00 p.m., followed by game three on Sunday, March 29 at 12:00 p.m.

Providence enters this BIG EAST series with a 12-11 record and 5-1 mark in BIG EAST. Most recently, the Friars defeated Bryant, 6-5, in extra innings.

Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) was named BIG EAST Player of the Week following a standout performance in Providence's series sweep of DePaul. The senior batted .667 (6-for-9) with seven RBI and five runs scored, while posting a .889 slugging percentage and a .727 on-base percentage for the series. She currently leads the Friars with a .447 batting average on the season.

Cameron Dunn. (Bothell, Wash.) has had an impressive season for Providence so far. The infielder has been featured on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice and leads the team with 25 RBI, nine home runs and a .922 slugging percentage. Her nine home runs are tied for second in the BIG EAST.Â

Alannah Hopkins (Sylva, N.C.) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after making an impact both at the plate and in the circle against DePaul. Hopkins hit .500 (1-for-2) with one RBI, while also posting a 1-0 record with a 1.75 ERA in the circle. She struck out seven batters and allowed just two earned runs across 8.0 innings pitched. On the season, Hopkins has recorded 19 strikeouts in 35.0 innings pitched.

Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) leads the pitching staff with a 5-1 record and a 3.14 ERA. She has recorded 31 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. Twomey's 3.14 ERA ranks third in the BIG EAST.

The Pirates enter this weekend's series with an 11-15 record and 2-7 mark in BIG EAST play.
Angelina Benitez leads the Pirates offensively with a .394 batting average and 16 RBI while posting a .426 slugging percentage. Sophia Demarco has also been a key contributor, batting .324 with a team-high four home runs and a .541 slugging percentage.
In the circle, Kyra Kreuscher leads the pitching staff with 22 appearances and 45 innings pitched. She has recorded 43 strikeouts and has posted a 5.13 ERA. Rachael Schumann has also seen significant time, making 17 appearances and recording 19 strikeouts in 45.0 innings of work.
