PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team (12-11, 5-1 BIG EAST) defeated Bryant (11-15, 2-1 America East) on Wednesday, March 25, at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars secured an 6-5 victory in eight innings when senior Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) singled to right field, sending Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) home for the walk-off win. Â
 GAME NOTESÂ
• The Friars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, when Julia Renny (Syosset, N.Y.) hit a three-run home run to left center to make it 3-1, Providence. Â
• In the second inning, Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) singled up the middle, sending Lee home to extend the Providence lead. Â
• Addyson Frye (New Castle, Pa.) got a hold of a pitch in the fourth inning, sending it over the left field wall for a solo home run, making it 5-1 Providence. Â
• After Bryant tied it in the seventh inning, Jonte stepped up to the plate and singled up the middle, sending Lee home again to secure the walk-off victory for Providence. Â
• In the circle, Frye pitched 5.2 innings, allowing zero runs and earning the win. Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) and Grace Brooks (Meridian, Idaho) both came in relief. The pitching staff recorded four total strikeouts. Â

The Friars will return to action this weekend when they travel to South Orange, N.J. to take on Seton Hall in a weekend series. The first game is scheduled for Friday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. Â
