PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team will open BIG EAST Conference play with a three-game series against the Creighton Bluejays (11-14, 3-0 BIG EAST) from March 13-14 in Omaha, Neb. The series opener is scheduled for Friday, March 13 at 4:00 p.m. (ET). The Friars will then play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14 with games scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (ET) and 4:30 p.m. (ET).

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters BIG EAST play with a 6-10 record. Most recently, the Friars swept Stonehill in a midweek doubleheader, earning a 10-1 victory in six innings in the opener before taking game two, 11-0, in five innings. Five Friars combined for six home runs on the day, led by
Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) with two.
Julia Renny (Syosset, N.Y.),
Sofia Peterson (Bordentown, N.J.),
Zoe Krizan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and
Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) each added one.
Dunn has had an impressive season for Providence so far. The infielder has earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition twice and paces the Friars with eight home runs, 18 RBI and a 1.091 slugging percentage.
Peterson leads the team with a .452 batting average while adding three home runs and 13 RBI on the season.

Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) leads the pitching staff with a 3-1 record and a 4.54 ERA. She has recorded 25 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Creighton enters the series with an 11-14 overall record after recently sweeping Kansas City in a midweek doubleheader.
Lily West leads the Bluejays' offense. She was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after hitting .714 with three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and six runs scored during Creighton's series sweep of Seton Hall to open conference play. West leads the team with a .372 batting average.
Brooklyn Patchen earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honors after posting a 1.91 ERA across 7.1 innings, allowing just nine hits while striking out three. On the season, she owns a 5.29 ERA and has recorded a team-best 36 strikeouts.
Freshman Zoey Greenwod was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after batting .462 with two doubles, a triple, five RBI and seven runs scored in Creighton's most recent series.

The Friars are set to host a doubleheader against Boston College on Wednesday, March 18, on Glay Field. The first game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start, followed by the second at 5:00 p.m.
