PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College softball team was defeated, 8-2, the final game of its weekend series against Seton Hall (22-16, 8-7 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 5, at Glay Field. With the loss, the Friars fell to 14-21 overall and 8-7 in BIG EAST play. Senior 
Gabriella Sebastian (Ramsey, N.J.) went 2-2 at the plate and scored both runs. The Friars concluded the weekend series with a 2-1 record after securing two wins in Friday's doubleheader. 
GAME NOTES  
	- Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings. 
- In the bottom of the third Sebastian put the Friars on the board, scoring on a bases-loaded groundout by Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.). 
- Seton Hall responded with a three-run fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead. 
- The Pirates extended their advantage in the fifth, adding two more runs to go up 5-1. 
- Providence answered in the bottom of the fifth, as Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) delivered a sacrifice fly to score Sebastian, her second run of the game. 
- Seton Hall added insurance with three more runs in the top of the seventh, bringing the score to 8-2. 
- The Friars were unable to rally in the bottom of the seventh. 
- Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) started in the circle for Providence, pitching six innings. Graduate student Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) entered in relief for the seventh. Both pitchers recorded one strikeout. 
- Providence wrapped up the weekend with a 2-1 series victory over Seton Hall and finished the week with a 3-1 record overall. 
ON DECK
The Friars will host Rhode Island in a non-conference game on April 8 at Glay Field. The game is slated for 4:00 p.m. and will stream on FloCollege.
