SCOUTING PROVIDENCE

Providence enters BIG EAST play with a 2-12 overall record. Last weekend the Friars participated in the Charge On Classic in Orlando, Fla. where they earned a 2-3 mark with wins over North Florida and George Mason.

Sophomore Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) leads the team with a .658 slugging percentage and 11 RBI. The first baseman had a standout weekend at the Charge On Classic, recording two home runs including a grand slam that sealed the 15-4 win over North Florida on Feb.28. Dunn finished the weekend with six RBI, six hits, four runs scored and a .813 slugging percentage.

Junior Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) has had an impressive season so far for the Friars. Over the past weekend, she delivered a strong performance at the plate, going 8-for-19 (.421) including three triples and two RBIs. Smith scored three of the team's six runs in the team's win over George Mason on March 2. She currently leads the squad with 17 hits and a .378 batting average.

Senior Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) wrapped up last weekend with a 1.35 ERA and a 1-0 record. Over 10.1 innings, she tallied nine strikeouts while holding opponents to a .189 batting average, allowing just seven hits and two earned runs. Walter secured her first win of the season in the Friars' victory over the Patriots, striking out six and limiting them to five hits and one earned run across 28 at-bats.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON

Creighton comes into the series with a 9-6 overall record, having recently posted a 2-3 mark at the UC Santa Barbara Tournament. The Bluejays secured a win against St. Mary's, split their matchups with UC Santa Barbara and fell in both games against UNLV.

Lily West and Sydra Seville co-lead the lineup for Creighton. West currently boasts a team-best .400 batting average with 20 hits and eight RBI. Seville holds a .462 slugging percentage with nine RBI. West drilled in the final hit that scored Seville in the Bluejay's 4-0 win over St. Mary's on March 1.

Sophomores Brooklyn Patchen and Brooke Shifflett lead Creighton's pitching staff. Patchen delivered a complete-game shutout against UC Santa Barbara (Feb.28), while Shifflett dominated in a one-hit performance to secure a shutout win over St. Mary's. Shifflett currently boasts a 2.53 ERA over 36 innings.
