Cameron Dunn finished with six RBI on the day.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team split a double-header against Yale on Wednesday March 12 at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Bulldogs defeated the Friars, 8-4, in the opening game and Providence responded with a 7-3 win in game two. Yale moved to a 7-10 overall on the year. The Friars improved to 5-14 overall (2-1 BIG EAST). Sophomore Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) recorded six RBI across the two games.
GAME ONE NOTES
· Dunn opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning (2-0).
· The Bulldogs stole home to score their first run of the game in the second inning (2-1).
· The Friars added two runs in the third off RBI from Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) and Dunn (4-1).
· Yale finished the game with seven unanswered runs, scoring two in the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the seventh.
· Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) and Riley Quirk (Holden, Mass.) each spent time in the circle for the Friars. Twomey recorded six strikeouts through five innings. The two pitchers conceded nine hits and seven earned runs.
GAME TWO NOTES
· Yale kicked off the scoring with a home run in the first (1-0).
· Dunn answered with a two-run RBI in the first that scored Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) and Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) (2-1).
· Dunn added an RBI single in the third that allowed Smith to cross the plate (3-1).
· Yale recorded a two-run home run in the sixth to tie the score at 3-3.
· PC quickly bounced back in the bottom of the sixth with four runs, highlighted by a two-run double by Hanna Aldrich (Taunton, Mass.).
· The inning broke open the game and Providence held the Bulldogs scoreless in the top of the seventh to win the game.
· Smith finished 3-3 from the plate and recorded one RBI and three runs scored.
· Alannah Hopkins (Sylva, N.C.) pitched a complete game for Providence. The junior struck out four and gave up eight hits and three earned runs.

The Friars will host a three-game series against BIG EAST foe Butler on Glay Field. The opening game is scheduled for Friday March 14 at 3:00 p.m. All three games will be available for stream on FloCollege.
