PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Former Providence College midfielder and captain Kevin Vang (Cranston, R.I.) signed with Rhode Island FC on Tuesday, Feb. 20. During his five-year tenure with the Friars, Vang appeared in 83 matches, contributing four goals and nine assists while playing a total of 4,877 minutes.

Vang helped the Friars to a 12-5-4 overall record in 2021, including a 5-2-3 mark in the BIG EAST Tournament, advancing to the BIG EAST Championship Game for the sixth time in program history and allowing Providence to earn its 11
th NCAA Tournament berth. The Friars advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Friars were inside the top-25 of the United Soccer Coaches Poll for eight-consecutive weeks to close the regular-season schedule.
RIFC will make its USL Championship debut on March 16 against New Mexico United at Bryant University's Beirne Stadium in Smithfield, R.I.
