Friars outshot the Pirates, but were unable to convert a goal.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated by Seton Hall, 2-0, in the 2025 BIG EAST opener on Friday, Sept. 19 at Owen T. Carroll Field in South Orange, N.J. With the result, the Friars dropped to 2-5-0 on the season (0-1-0 BIG EAST), while Seton Hall improved to 3-1-3 (1-0-0 BIG EAST).

GAME FLOW & NOTES
•  Seton Hall struck in the fourth minute (3:11) when Agustin Resch finished an unassisted chance to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
• Providence controlled much of the play, generating 11 total shots and nine corner kicks compared to Seton Hall's eight shots and one corner.
•  Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) led the Providence attack with five shots, all on goal, while Caden Stafford (Cincinnatus, N.Y.) added three attempts off the bench.
•  Seton Hall's goalkeeper Matias Molina made five saves to record the shutout.
• The Pirates added a goal late in the match (83:18) as Til Kauschke scored on a penalty to make it 2-0.
