PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer players
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal),
Bernardo Prego (Evora, Portugal) and
Rodrigo Vaza (Torres Vedras, Portugal) were named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-East Region on Dec. 10. Rosa earned Men's All-East Region First Team honors while Prego and Vaza were named to the Men's All-East Second Team.
Rosa finished his second season at Providence leading the team in points (16) and assists (six) while finishing with a career-high five goals on the season. Rosa recorded a career-best two goals in the Friars' tie versus Creighton on Sept. 28 with his second goal coming in the final four seconds of regulation. He was named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Sept. 30 and to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Prego has been a staple in the Friar backline for the past two seasons. The right back recorded a career-high four assists and six shots across 1,456 minutes. He was the only Providence player to be named to the All-BIG EAST First Team.
Vaza has been a standout in Providence's midfield over the past two seasons. He scored the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 upset over No. 8 Seton Hall on Sept. 20. Vaza was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.

Providence College finished its successful 2024 campaign ranked No. 25 in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll. Providence ended the season with a 13-6-5 overall record, including a 7-2-2 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. The Friars qualified for their 24
th BIG EAST Tournament, claiming the No. 2 seed and a advancing to the title game.
The Friars' postseason run continued in the NCAA Tournament for the 12
th time in program history, as the squad advanced to the Second Round. Providence defeated Bucknell (2-1) before falling to seventh-ranked, ninth-seeded defending National Champions Clemson (2-0).
