PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Freshman
Pearse O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn.) of the Providence College men's soccer team was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, Sep. 5. This marks the team's first BIG EAST weekly recognition of the season.
On Friday, Sep. 1, O'Brien scored his first career goal in the Friar's game against Hofstra. On Monday, Sep. 4, he assisted
Brendan McSorley's game-winning goal with 1:06 left in the contest, leading the Friars to a 2-1 win at URI.
Pearse is tied for first on the team in scoring with one goal and two assists for four points on the season.
Up next, the Friars will host UMass on Saturday, Sep. 9 at 7:00 p.m.
