FRIARS AND LIONS ALL-TIME... Providence and Columbia have met just two times during the history of the two women's basketball programs. The Lions lead the series, 2-0. The only meeting played in New York City was decided in overtime on Dec. 7, 2016 - which also marked the first meeting all-time. On that day, the Lions claimed a 66-64 win in overtime.

FRIARS VS. THE IVY LEAGUE IN 2023-24... The Friars are scheduled to face three teams affiliated with the Ivy League during the 2023-24 season. Providence fell to Brown, 61-56, on November 15 at Pizzitola Sports Center. In addition to playing Columbia on Nov. 29, the Friars also will face Yale on Dec. 9 in New Haven, Conn.

COMEBACK EFFORT FALLS SHORT AT PENN STATE... The Friars were staring at a 20-point deficit (29-9) after one quarter of play at Penn State in their most recent game on Nov. 26. Providence fought back to claim its first lead with 8:34 remaining in the fourth quarter and stretched the lead to as many as five. Penn State reclaimed the lead and gained a four-point edge (63-59) with 1:47 to play. Providence cut the deficit to one with three-straight points from Olivia Olsen with 1:22 to play (63-62), but the Nittany Lions were a perfect 10-10 from the foul line in the final minute of the game to claim a 73-66 victory.
