Davis Smith named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Leads Friars with 9 points

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Davis Smith (Amherst, Mass.) of the Providence College men's soccer team was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 20. This marked Smith's second BIG EAST weekly recognition this season. 
 
After missing the Friars' previous match against Loyola University Maryland, on Sep. 18, Smith scored the first tying goal for the Friars and assisted the next two goals in the Friars BIG EAST opener win at No. 19 Seton Hall. This season, Smith has posted three goals and three assists for a team-high nine points. The Friars have raced out to a great start to the 2021 season with three victories without defeat at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Up next, the Friars will travel to Providence, R.I. to face-off against Cross-City Cup rival against Brown.
