Babineau earned All-BIG EAST honors for the second time to close her career.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College field hockey student-athlete Maddie Babineau (Grimsby, Ontario) was named to the All-BIG EAST Conference First Team. The league office released its all-conference selections and major awards today [April 21], following a regular-season schedule that was moved from the fall to the spring, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Babineau earned All-BIG EAST recognition for the second time in her career, having previously been named to the Second Team in 2018. Prior to this year's spring season, Babineau was a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

In a shortened season, Babineau started all nine of the Friars' games and recorded one assist in a match against conference foe Quinnipiac (March 5).

For her career, she started all 66 games in the midfield for Providence and recorded 27 points on six goals and 15 assists. She also helped guide the Friars to three BIG EAST Tournament appearances in her four seasons. Babineau also excels in the classroom having been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
