PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior
Paulo Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) of the 25th ranked Providence College men's soccer team was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, October 11
th. This marked Lima's first BIG EAST weekly recognition this season.
Lima was named to the 2021 BIG EAST All Preseason Team and has helped contribute to the Friars elite offense. The senior midfielder scored his first goal of the week against a St. John's team that was unbeaten in the BIG EAST. Lima scored the lone goal in the 102
nd minute to lead the Friars to a win. On Saturday October 9
th, Lima scored the first goal and only goal for the Friars in a BIG EAST draw against DePaul.
Lima ranks third on the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points on the season.
Up next, the Friars will host No. 1 ranked Georgetown University on Wednesday, October 13 at 7:00PM.
