Santos of Men’s Soccer Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Santos scored his first two career goals in the Friars’ 3-2 win at Butler on Saturday.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) of the Providence College men's soccer was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll today (Sept. 24).
 
Santos scored his first two career goals to help the Friars to a 3-2 victory at Butler on Saturday (Sept. 22). The freshman recorded three shots in just his second appearance of the season for the Friars. His goals, which came just four minutes apart, helped Providence to its first BIG EAST victory of the season.
 
Providence continues BIG EAST play on Saturday, Sept. 29 when the Xavier Musketeers come to town. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The program will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary during the game.
