PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Former Providence College men's soccer standout Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) signed a contract with the Houston Dynamo of the MLS on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
"It's a great day for Mac, who really had to earn this contract in pre-season camp, head coach Craig Stewart said. "He is finally feeling 100 percent healthy and we look forward to following his professional career."
Steeves, who was drafted 43rd overall by the Houston Dynamo in the MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 19, finished his career at Providence as one of the most prolific scorers in program history. He tallied 35 goals and 12 assists for 82 points and is second all-time in both goals scored and total points.
"It is a great step for our program to put back-to-back players into the MLS. Ironically, Mac and the Houston Dynamo will open up the season against Julian Gressel and Atlanta United on March 3. We look forward to watching them compete," Craig Stewart added.
