PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
Providence College men's soccer Head Coach Craig Stewart announced today (Feb. 6) the addition of three student-athletes to the 2017 roster.
The incoming class consists of Ben Agnew (Alpharetta, Ga.), Garrett King (Scarborough, Maine), and Ben Ludwick (Boxborough, Mass.).
Agnew, a 5-6, 140-pound attacker, attended Milton High School and played for the Concord Fire Development team. Agnew captained the Fire for three-consecutive years and helped the team to a Georgia State Cup Championship in the 2014-15 season. In his sophomore season at Milton High School he was named the Offensive Player of the Year.
King is a 6-1, 155-pound defender. He played for the Seacoast United Development Academy (2012-14) and the Seacoast United Mariners (2010-17). At Scarborough High School, King captained the team in his senior season, won the SMAA Athletic Award three times, was named to the All-Conference First team twice (2015, 2016), the All-Conference Second team (2014), and was a two time Southern Maine Class A All-Star Team selection. In 2015, King helped his team to a Southern Maine Conference Championship.
Ludwick, a 6-2, 170-pound forward/midfielder, attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and earned eight varsity letters, four in soccer and four in track. Ludwick also played for the FC Stars and helped his team to a 2015 National Championship. He was named a Dual-County League All-Star, Eastern Massachusetts All-Star, and the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star Game North MVP in 2016.
