The Providence College men's soccer team will play a non-conference match against Connecticut on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies enter the non-conference match-up with a 6-3record and a 1-0 record in the American Athletic Conference. The Huskies' most notable game came on Sept. 13 at then-No. 1 Notre Dame, falling 1-0 in double overtime. UConn has played one other game against a BIG EAST opponent and was defeated 1-0 by Georgetown on Sept. 10.
The Huskies are led by Abdou Thiam, who has played in seven games and recorded 13 points on six goals and one assist. Two other Huskies received weekly honors from the AAC on Sept. 26 after defeating league opponent Temple 1-0 on Sept. 24. Jake Nerwinski was named Defender of the Week after scoring one goal against Rhode Island (Sept. 21) and then helping the Huskies to their third shutout.
Scott Levene earned Goalkeeper of the Week accolades (Sept. 26) after earning his third shutout of the season. Levene has made 33 saves on the season and allowed seven goals for a goals against average of 0.77 and save percentage of .825.
Scouting the Friars
The Friars return home after facing No. 10 Butler on the road. The Friars held the Bulldogs scoreless until the 76th minute, when Butler scored off a penalty kick and then again in the 80th minute, also off a penalty kick. Providence will enter the non-conference match with a 4-4 record and 0-2 BIG EAST record. The Friars are led by Julian Gressel (Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany) who has nine points on four goals and one assist.
Ben Seguljic has played 468:45 minutes on the season, making eight saves and allowing eight goals against for a 1.54 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.

The Friars will resume BIG EAST play and host Xavier at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
