Danny Griffin Named to US Soccer Chula Vista Training Camp

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's soccer's freshman midfielder Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) was named to the U.S. Under-19 Men's National Team 24-player roster for training camp held in Chula Vista, Calif. (Oct. 3-10).
Griffin, a freshman midfielder, has been named to the training camp in the middle of his rookie campaign with the Friars. Griffin has tallied four goals for eight points on the season. Each of Griffin's goals have served as game-winning goals including an overtime tally on Oct. 1, to lift the Friars past Xavier and to their first BIG EAST win of the 2016 season.
While in Chula Vista, Calif. Griffin will train with the U-19 Men's National Team and play three matches. Griffin is one of five forwards selected to the camp and one of three that currently play at the collegiate level. The majority of the players selected (10) compete in the MLS.
