Danny Griffin Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's soccer freshman Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll in an announcement made by the league on Oct. 3. It marks Griffin's second weekly conference honor of the season, after being named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week (Sept. 12).

Griffin scored his fourth career goal on Oct. 1, in overtime to lift the Friars past the Xavier Musketeers, 2-1. Griffin's goal marks his fourth game-winning goal of his rookie campaign. The overtime goal also helped the Friars snap their three-game losing streak and earn their first BIG EAST win.

The Friars are back in action on Oct. 5 at Brown at 7:00 p.m. for a cross-city rivalry match.
