Julian Gressel Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's soccer senior captain Julian Gressel (Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll in an announcement made by the league on Oct. 24, 2016.

Gressel assisted on a goal scored by Liam Wilson (Sussex, England) to take a 1-0 lead at DePaul and then scored a goal of his own in the 51st minute off of a penalty kick. The goal was Gressel's ninth of the season.

Gressel's three points lifted the Friars past DePaul, 2-1, and to the team's fifth consecutive win The Friars now hold a 9-5 overall record and 4-2 conference record. The senior midfielder posts 22 points on nine goals and four assists to lead the team.

Providence is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium against the Marquette Golden Eagles. The game will also honor the team's four graduating seniors.
