Julian Gressel Named BIG EAST Offensive Player Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior midfielder Julian Gressel (Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer as announced by the league on Oct. 10. This is the second time Gressel has earned the honor (Aug. 29).

Gressel tallied seven points in the Friars' past two games on three goals and one assist. The senior midfielder led the Friars to their second consecutive overtime victory over Brown (Oct. 5), 1-0. Gressel scored in the 93rd minute to lift the Friars past the Bears.

Providence resumed BIG EAST play with a home match against Villanova on Oct. 8, defeating the Wildcats 3-1. Gressel tallied two goals and one assist in the game.

The Friars are back in action on Oct. 15 in South Orange, N.J. at 1:00 p.m. against BIG EAST opponent, Seton Hall.
